The Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan has announced its two-weekend expansion in 2017. A formal statement was released on their official website that explained:

"After careful and thoughtful consideration, Electric Forest is ready to take an amazing leap into the future. Forest HQ is incredibly excited to announce that Electric Forest 2017 will take place on two distinct and back-to-back weekends at a lower capacity. Each weekend will be unique, and none of the 8 total days of Electric Forest will be the same. While Electric Forest will expand in many ways in 2017, its intimacy will stay intact. In fact, the capacity for each weekend will be reduced by approximately 10% from 2016."

Although multiple changes will be made going into 2017, Forest headquarters have made it clear that passes will not change in rate. For full details regarding the gripping announcement, visit Electric Forest Festival's official website here.

Bassnectar Reveals Two-Night Secret Experience Location

Bassnectar Graphic via Bassnectar Website

Veteran DJ/Producer Bassnectar has announced an upcoming two-night secret gathering in ATL. The recently cancer-free 38-year-old continues to surprise fans left and right with future events.

According to Billboard, the get-together is going down September 9th and 10th at 279 Andrew Young International Blvd. in Atlanta, Georgia. Aside from Bassnectar, artists in attendance will include Hudson Mohawke, Lunice, Truth, Big Wild, Aliens, and Hustle Up. For more information about the event, click here.

"Come spend a weekend with us as we take over Downtown Atlanta for our first show since 2013 at The Tabernacle! We are going back to our roots – the underground parties of the 1990s: one room, one floor, no seats, sweat dripping from the ceiling, secret location…

There will be a map point & info to follow, but to be clear this is not a 'show' – it’s a gathering.

As it is a destination weekend event, if you’re local to ATL then invite your friends from out of town and pull out the sleeping bags. It’s another family affair, and you are invited to be a part of it, but these tickets will go extremely fast, and we want to avoid scalpers as much as we can."

EDC Puerto Rico And Beyond Wonderland Bay Area Will Not Take Place In 2016

shutterstock_210792799
Crowd via Shutterstock

Insomniac Events founder Pasquale Rotella has announced that EDC Puerto Rico and Beyond Wonderland Bay Area will not return for the 2016 year. However, with Rotella confirming that the decision was not based off of attendance issues, the two widely successful festivals still plan on venturing to new and exciting cities.

Along with the recent cancellation statement, Rotella also made it clear that he wants to focus on an even more impactful objective for future events:

"Another goal this year is to help bring back the true art of DJing. Part of what’s so magical about dance music is the ability for a DJ to take listeners on a journey. We want to give DJs the opportunity to do that, so you’ll definitely be seeing longer set times this year. And it’s full speed ahead with Bassrush, Basscon and Crush, as well as Dreamstate, which is growing faster than we ever expected and will be coming to new cities in 2016. We’re also relaunching Insomniac Records, so stay tuned for lots of new music from all the amazing artists we’ll be working with. Last but certainly not least, I’m excited to announce that we’re working on new US festivals, some with camping, that will take place in 2017!"
